Lucinda Price (Luce) is sent to a reform school, Swords and Crosses, because she was suspected to be responsible for Trevor's death, who was burnt in a fire and for being insane for seeing so called "shadows". She meets Arriane and Penn, the deceased gardener's daughter, who both become her friends. Molly is mean to her and becomes her enemy. She meet Daniel and Cam and feels as if Daniel is familiar. They fall in love and with the help of Penn and the librarian, uncovers her secret, she reincarnates every 17 years but survives only 17 years. She also discovers that Daniel is an angel, as well as many of the other school kids. There is an angel fight at the end, where the librarian is found to be evil and murders Penn and tries to kill Luce but Daniel saves her. The other boy Cam is a demon and he has been out to kill Luce since sh had first arrived. He is the master of the "shadows" or the correct term is the announcers and this causes panic amoungst luce as in any of her past lives where she has not seen them before she has died after she kisses daniel or before they fall in love. But this could be different, if she can see the shadows, maybe she can finally be with Daniel..or maybe this time she will die and stay dead. I can not wait to read torment and report back to you!
